As part of the training activities of VoiceGuard, FIBGAR has delivered the project’s first training sessions focused on whistleblower protection and the strengthening of organisational cultures of integrity.
The free online sessions brought together participants from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including compliance professionals, legal and HR practitioners, public administration staff, NGO representatives, journalists and other professionals and stakeholders interested in whistleblower protection.
The first training sessions
The sessions provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of whistleblower protection and to explore some of the practical challenges organisations may face when establishing and implementing effective protection mechanisms.
Alongside the training content, particular emphasis was placed on discussion and exchange. Participants were able to raise questions, share experiences and discuss practical situations arising in different professional and organisational contexts.
The diversity of profiles represented in the sessions contributed to a rich exchange of perspectives, highlighting the importance of bringing together different actors involved in preventing and addressing wrongdoing and in ensuring that people who report concerns have access to appropriate safeguards.
Participation in numbers
The first FIBGAR training sessions attracted participants from different professional backgrounds and contexts.
- People registered: 48
- People attending: 30

These figures offer an initial snapshot of the reach and diversity of the training activities delivered by FIBGAR.
From training to exchange
The discussions generated during the sessions showed that training on whistleblower protection is also an important opportunity for mutual learning.
Participants raised questions and shared perspectives on the practical implementation of protection mechanisms, the role of organisations and professionals, and the conditions needed to create environments where people can safely raise concerns and report potential wrongdoing.
This exchange is particularly valuable in a field where the effectiveness of formal protection mechanisms also depends on organisational practices, awareness and trust.
A first step in the VoiceGuard training activities
FIBGAR’s sessions mark the first training activities delivered by the organisation within VoiceGuard. They are also part of the wider programme of training activities being implemented by the project consortium.
As the different partners carry out their respective activities, the consortium will be able to build a broader picture of participation, professional profiles and the training needs and challenges identified across the different contexts involved in the project.
Thank you to all participants
FIBGAR would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who participated in these first training sessions for their time, engagement, questions and contributions.
The discussions and experiences shared throughout the sessions helped make the training a valuable space for learning and exchange, while also providing useful insights into the practical challenges surrounding whistleblower protection.
FIBGAR will continue contributing to the VoiceGuard training activities and to the consortium’s efforts to strengthen knowledge, capacities and practices that support effective whistleblower protection and stronger cultures of integrity.
